ELIEZER BANDONILL VILLARUZ is a Licensed Architect and Authorized Person for Architecture and Statutory Submissions in MACAU, SAR CHINA, a Registered and Licensed Architect in the PHILIPPINES, and a Certified ASEAN Architect.
With over 20 years of solid experience credited in extensive and diversified fields of practice, he has been involved in various large scale projects specifically as Design Architect and Project Architect (Transport) for Macau’s Taipa Ferry Terminal and Multi-Level Car Parking facilities from 2005 to 2007; a Resident Architect for The Venetian Resort Macau and Four Seasons Hotel Macau 2007-2008; to being Assistant Design Manager for the City of Dreams Macau Crown-Hyatt-Hard Rock Hotels in 2008-2009; Architectural Project Design Manager and Head for Architecture at Wynn Resorts Las Vegas and Wynn Encore Macau in 2009-2011; Project Manager–Design for the Hard Rock Café Macau in 2012; and Project Design Manager-Architecture at Galaxy Macau Resort’s development for the Ritz Carlton and JW Marriott Hotels respectively in 2012-2014.
It is credited to his Macau, Hong Kong, and China experience under international firms in Planning and Architecture, and Design Project Management for developers, which built up his technical and
management capability to weave, integrate and successfully deliver projects from concept to construction, with emphasis on full coordination with client, operators, consultants and contractors, design project programming, master planning, International Building Code review and architectural statutory submissions under Hong Kong and Macau regulations.
Completed his Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2000 from the Saint Louis University, Architect Villaruz also earned units in Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of the Philippines Baguio in 2001 and units in Master of Environmental and Habitat Planning from Saint Louis University in 2003.
He is an International Associate of the American Institute of Architects (Hongkong Chapter), and a full member of the Architects Association of Macau (AAM) where he had been consistently chosen to represent AAM to ARCASIA to Architectural Competitions and nominated as “Macau Young Architects under 40” in Macau and Shenzhen in 2011.
In the Philippines, Architect Villaruz is an active member of the United Architects of the Philippines serving previously as the National Chair for Architectural Competition under the Commission on Professional Practice FY 2014-2015, and an Accredited Lecturer on “Hotel & Resort Planning and Design” organized by the UAP Professional Development Commission, Board of Architecture-PRC and the Commission on Higher Education from April 2014 to present.
Architect Villaruz has held an instructor II position at the College of Architecture, University of Santo Tomas (UST) España, Manila from May 2014 to June 2015 and has taught Tropical and Architectural Design, Professional Practice, and Advanced Building Technology.
Lately in October 2015, Ar. Villaruz’s firm won 3rd in an international architectural design competition in Macau having to be commissioned to join the technical design group to complete an urban design and master planning of a Tourism Lakefront Development and 6th place in the Building Accessible and Livable Ecologies (BALE) organized by the BCDA on August 2015.
Currently, Ar. Villaruz is the Principal Architect of E.B. Villaruz Architecture and Planning and the Director of E.B. Villaruz Architecture and Planning Ltd. In Hong Kong. He is working on various projects in the Philippines, such as the redevelopment of NAIA Terminals 1,2 and 3, Bulacan International Container Terminal, Bonrich Tolling Services, and local projects in Baguio like Façade Design at Kayang St., Condominium Building along Marcos Highway, proposal for Baguio City Market and other residential and commercial projects in the city.
